A self-hosted deployment is an operating model

Plan ownership, upgrades, secrets, recovery and evidence before choosing where software runs.

The question behind the term

Running software on an organization’s infrastructure can improve control over placement and access, but it also transfers patching, monitoring, key custody, backup and incident responsibility. “Self-hosted” alone is not a privacy guarantee.

A reviewable approach

Write a responsibility matrix for application releases, database migration, secret rotation, certificate renewal, backup restore, alert review and vulnerability response. Automate reproducible builds and prove restore on an isolated environment.

  • Name each operational owner
  • Separate runtime, migration and audit privileges
  • Test backup restoration
  • Publish supported versions and upgrade windows

The boundary to keep visible

The current public Livara product pages do not publish general self-hosted availability or deployment terms. A future deployment requires exact product, version, support and data-boundary agreement.

Start with the real constraint

Something important needs to work better.
